The Great Columbus Duck Race & Run

The Great Columbus Duck Race & Run took place on Saturday, August 29, 2015 in Gahanna. The event featured a 5k, 10k and kids run followed by nearly 9,300 rubber ducks racing down Big Walnut Creek behind Gahanna's Creekside Plaza. At $5 a duck, a nice haul for the Research Institute at Nationwide Children's Hospital was made. Check out the human race below via video and the stills from the rubber duck race! Blvd Run Skateboarding

Columbus skateboard groups got permission to set up a skateboard park on Washington Boulevard behind COSI, west of downtown, on Saturday, August 22. Really awesome to see that Columbus has such a solid skate scene!

Tomato Fest

Last Saturday I got to swing by the 50th annual Reynoldsburg Tomato Festival in Reynoldsburg for This Week news. Needless to say, I was cleaning spaghetti sauce off of my lens later that evening. Making photos on iPhone and DSLR

It took a bit of time for the rain to pass, but mid-July and early August have finally started to feel like summer. Blue skies, festivals and portraits seem to take up most of my time lately. Usually when I get an assignment, before anything else I check out the archives. Each time I do this I am reminded of what a privilege it is to work with such a creative and technical staff. It’s amazing to see such consistently, good work, even for the dullest of assignments. It keeps me motivated to try new things, set up lights and to make photos along the way and in between (usually with my iPhone 5).
